Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation of the dead, outer layers of the skin. It reveals the fresher, healthier skin beneath. The face, neck, and chest are the most common areas to be treated.
Microdermabrasion is a no-downtime, effective, superficial skin treatment performed at Heritage Way Medical Spa Burlington.* Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation of the skin to remove the top layer, called the stratum corneum. The stratum corneum is the layer of the skin where dead skin cells exist and the effects of sun damage can be seen. Benefits of Microdermabrasion include the softening of fine lines and wrinkles; improvement in skin tone and texture; decrease in pore size; reduction in the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation; and increase in cell regeneration.*
For best results, it is generally recommended that a series of treatments be performed. Your skin care provider can suggest the number of treatments that is best suited for you. Microdermabrasion can often be combined with other skin care treatments such as Chemical Peels, Facials, and Laser or RF treatments, as well as appropriate home care products, to achieve optimum results.
At Heritage Way Medical Spa Burlington and Mississauga, we always suggest combining other treatments for best results. Several factors may influence the decision to which treatment is selected. Factors such as cost, time, convenience, skin type and previous treatments are all important. To make sure our treatments address your individual concerns, all treatments begin with a consultation. We are a results-led clinic and your treatment coordinator will recommend an individual treatment protocol to meet your needs.
